established as a specialist Ducati store in Byron Bay in January 2001. It is owned and operated by Arthur Davis and his wife Jackee.
Desmo Headquarters Arthur has only ever owned Ducati motorcycles, his first being a 450 Desmo single, purchased in 1975. He learnt his Ducati trade working with Ian Gowanloch at both the Lidcombe and Belmore workshops for 18 years. In 1992 Arthur took up the role of Technician and Team Manager of the Australian Ducati Dealer Superbike Team. The Ducati race team owned by the Ducati Importers N.F.Importers Pty Ltd.
After winning the Australian Superbike Championship in 1999 with Steve Martin on board the team was disbanded and Arthur continued on with Ducati at the Homebush workshop of Fraser Motorcycles until January 2001 when Desmo Headquarters opened its doors in Byron Bay.
. While establishing the business Arthur travelled to the USA to contest each round of the AMA Pro Thunder Championship and Battle of The Twins series. Working with Jeff Nash of Advanced Motors Sports Ducati Team in Dallas Texas, Arthur was named Crew Chief of the Year in 2000 and 2002 and won the AMA Pro Thunder Championship in 2000 and 2002.
Jackee has a background in Corporate Banking and was Assistant Vice President and Operations Manager of Citibank’s Corporate Asset Funding and Associate Director of Securitisation Capital Markets for AIDC Ltd. Jackee has extensive experience in administration operations from her years in banking and motorcycle industry from Burling & Simmons and Fraser Motorcycles Homebush. Jackee’s first bike was a 250 Ducati.
